Who doesn’t love a room with a view?  The Capitol View on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency, Sacramento, not only has a view over the tree tops and vistas of the city, but it looks smack at the beautiful gleaming dome of the State Capitol.   And what’s more… these views can be enjoyed from floor to ceiling windows inside, or step outside to the perfect balconies and gaze from comfortable seating on garden inspired lounge furniture.

I have had the pleasure of coordinating many wonderful weddings, and have attended great functions, in the Capitol View room.  This 15th floor venue is the perfect “party” space for a style of reception that lends itself to strolling, mingling, noshing and hanging out with family and friends, or a sophisticated sit down dinner may be enjoyed (complete with gold Chivari chairs – that come with the space rental!) Not too long ago, my client married in front of the windows while guests sat tableside, and then we went immediately into the reception portion of the evening. Perfect!  The excellent and polished service and quality of cuisine and bar that Hyatt offers is superb, and I have never been disappointed – from cocktail style parties to full on multi-coursed dinners.  I truly look forward to events at Hyatt.

Capitol View has a light and airy feel and the  décor and colors of the room work very well with all color palettes.  The use of creams, ivory, grays and gold along with a few Modern art pieces are sophisticated, stylish and “neutral” enough to compliment any design concept.  At night, candle light magically reflect against the windows for a romantic mood.

This hotel property is perfectly situated for accommodating and entertaining your out of town guests.  It’s great fun to have a wedding weekend in the hotel – hang out by the pool, dine at the hotel restaurants, sip at the handsome well equipped bar or  walk across the street to browse Capitol Park and tour the Capitol building, and then just a few blocks further down is shopping, as well as  the rich history of Old Sacramento, the State Railroad Museum and the Crocker Art Museum.  What’s not to love!?

A few photos were pulled from Hyatt’s website (to show the diversity in décor) and we thank Vixen photographer Beth of True Love Photo for joining us on the tour and taking many great shots.
