The Federalist Public House located on a cool urban alley in mid-town Sacramento is well known for its public venue amongst the craft beer and gourmet pizza lovers. What those-in-the-know may NOT know, is that Federalist also has a private, totally awesome, hip event space separate from the shipping container restaurant venue. The Hamilton Room, located within the beautiful historic, 1907 Federalist Style house that backs up to the restaurant space is one of the most perfect smaller venue options for those more intimate gatherings such as showers, birthday parties, cocktail warm up parties, chef’s dinners, and high end meetings. It is true that Federalist serves up the finest local beer out of a collection of shipping containers, but they also have a varied menu to offer for these intimate gatherings. I know, you may be tempted to make this your own home-sweet-home, but instead, let this space be your private home event oasis where you do not have to prepare beforehand, decorate it yourself, or clean up after your party!

Within the Hamilton Room, are three intimate rooms, with high ceilings, wainscoting, plate rail and built-ins and all is painted black – YES, you read that correct.  The rooms are dark, romantic, ultra cool and spectacular! This venue may be your new favorite design of modern elegant black meets cozy turn-of-the- century architecture. You may use the three separate rooms  separately, or combined, which is how we see the use of space.  Start in the entry room with it’s built-in bar, couch and add some highboy tables for mingling and conversation to start the party. The Hamilton Room(s) will easily accommodate 25-50 guests seated or cocktail style.

Depending on your size group, choosing one or both of the dining spaces offers a very specialized dining experience that is reminiscent of home cooked dinners at the farm table. The Heirloom dining space is designed after Great Grandma with a classic wood dining table and seating for 10. The VIP~Chef’s Table offers the rustic elegance we all fall for: the wood-rustic farm table, bronze café chairs, restoration bar lighting, and a perfect display of antlers wall decor.  Again, these rooms are painted black, so your dinner mood will be super sexy!

Each room offers a built in sound system, some in-house rentals, a customizable food and beverage menu to suit your needs, and the flexibility of timing and costs that make any party possible here. If you just have to host your next party within the beer garden of the shipping container main hub, then call them for details. The beer garden and its long wood tables with bar style seating, bocce ball, wood fired oven….I get it. This space is incredible and worth the buy-out to close the place down to you and your friends!

Frequent specials of  farmer and chef series – a four course chef dinner with beer tastings, the breakfast club, and other fun events are held throughout the year! And to top all this off, they have a roof top Chef’s garden above the shipping container… how cool is that!

“Federalist is a celebration of all things Sacramento beer, pizza wine and architecture.”

Cheers to beer and all things local!

Thank you photographer Mischa Purcell for joining us on this trip… wasn’t the food fabulous?!
