This iconic establishment has been revered in Old Sacramento as one of the most wonderful and romantic dining experiences in the region. Located in the historic Sacramento riverfront, The Firehouse Restaurant has a rich history dating back to 1850’s. It started as the location to house California’s first fire chief and volunteer crew during the Gold Rush Era. After many years of deterioration the riverfront was reduced to nothing more than a slum. The old firehouse was purchased by Newton Cope just before the threat of demolition in 1959. The renovation of this charming landmark was the first in the very popular Old Sacramento Historic District.

The Firehouse Restaurant has amazing food and top notch service, but it’s so much more than a great restaurant. This venue has been the spot for countless special events for more than 150 years. It is graced with a beautiful, ivy covered brick patio with a lovely canopy of trees to shade a courtyard that is reminiscent of the New Orleans’ French Quarter. A large fountain in the center is often adorned with large flower arrangements at the top. The feeling of the courtyard is beautifully historic with vintage iron patio chairs and many lush plants in pots and planters.

The patio is adjacent to the Courtyard Grill.   The Courtyard Grill houses the grand, downstairs bar and also has space for cocktail tables and a few dinner tables.  The room is warm with many mirrors and a grand fireplace.  The fireplace is a wonderful backdrop for a smaller ceremony.  The ceiling has a  stained-glass dome, just asking for a cake display below.  The best thing about this space is the glass walls open entirely to make it an extension of the patio, while allowing a heated or air conditioned space.

The Golden Eagle Room is perfectly reminiscent of the Gold Rush Era. Adorned with antique furnishings, original paintings and gilded mirrors. this elegant space would be perfect for a business event or a reception for about 100 seated guests. The room has two sections, one works well for dining and the other has a handsome stationary bar and space for a dance floor.

There are other unique spaces available for events. The Main Dining Room, Wine Cellar Room I and Wine Cellar Room II are also available for private functions. This lovely establishment with fabulous cuisine and service would make for a perfect location for any event.  Your guests will truly be pampered at this venue.
