Gold Hill Gardens, in the rolling Gold Country foothills of Placer County, is about an hour’s drive from downtown Sacramento. This venue is on a gorgeous 33-acre private estate with terraced gardens and lush vegetation! The estate is an inn with 5 lovely rooms and the grounds make for a perfect wedding and event location.
The owners are so kind and welcome guests into this beautiful home and treat them as family. They have built the grounds with outdoor events in mind. There are interesting water features, koi pond, rock formations, abundant foliage and seasonally blooming flowers. They obviously love the outdoors and select every plant on property so that there are continual blooms of color. Gold Hill Gardens has the feel of your own home. It’s private and intimate, but large enough to hold 150 of your dearest friends to celebrate any occasion.
There are several great options for a wedding ceremony location. The upper lawn has amazing views of the Sierras, rolling hills, trees and the pasture below. Another favorite spot is the Creekside Lawn. It is very natural with a massive old oak tree and a charming green footbridge crossing the creek. For smaller groups there are even more options!
Additionally, there are many lovely areas where the guests can enjoy the cocktail hour, including poolside with iron bistro tables and the cabana bar, or perhaps have strolling cocktails. Roam the property, relax in the hammock or play shuffle board, giant chess, Jenga or cornhole (all games are provided by the venue.) Photo ops are everywhere… including the mechanical horses ~ what fun!
The large stained cement patio for dining and dancing the night away is completely covered with a lovely tent structure. Beautiful light fixtures adorn the underside of the tent, which also has side walls should the weather turn and the need for protection is warranted. Throughout the evening guests may step over to a slightly elevated seating area to enjoy a small fire pit and watch the evening’s action from this vantage point.
The venue rental includes tables, chairs, large market umbrellas and they even have a Borrow Room with tons of decorator items in the inventory. Also, a few pieces of lounge furniture. There is plenty of parking for your guests, or you can offer shuttle transportation for those staying at nearby hotels.
Check out the blog post about the bridal suite, available before the wedding. Also, the newlyweds have the option to stay overnight at the Inn at Gold Hill Garden which includes 5 sleeping rooms. To continue the celebration, an intimate gathering may be held either inside or down by the pool for a midnight swim or sitting around a lovely fire pit. This “after party” is only available for those who are renting the Inn at Gold Hill Gardens.
