One of the prettiest Sacramento area wedding venues is a well known golfing country club located in the rolling foothills. Placer County is about 30-45 minutes from Sacramento. Not many country clubs can brag that they are one of 64 Audubon Signature Sanctuaries in

the world… but Granite Bay Golf Club can! The wild life that calls Granite Bay Golf Club home is fantastic. There is an entire community of birds that live on the natural lake setting among mature oak trees, rock outcroppings and rolling terrain, but the most evident are the flocks of Canadian geese. There is also evidence that Native American Indians once resided on the grounds of this beautiful property.

But enough about nature, let’s talk about the flexibility and cohesiveness of this property. For those couples seeking one location with indoor and outdoor space and full service amenities, Granite Bay is perfect. The Garden Ceremony Lawn is picture perfect. There is a metal arch structure that looks pretty unadorned or you can glam it up with florals and fabric. The bride can enter the Garden from the Club or from the cocktail patio and down the paver-stone pathway.

The transitions are seamless with the cocktail patio just steps away from the Ceremony Lawn. There is a “Southern Planation” feel to the portico and the entire side has glass doors into the Conservatory. The Conservatory is a fantastic reception space with lots of windows and the white open-beamed ceiling. The ceiling is perfect for adding fabric swags, dropping large floral spheres from overhead, or pin-spotting the tables with theatrical lighting. Or leave it as is with the crystals of the chandeliers shining bright!

We also love the fact that Granite Bay Golf Club is somewhat of a “blank palette.” The Ceremony can be adorned simply or take on elaborate décor. In addition, the Conservatory doesn’t limit your design concept, in fact, it begs for the imagination to run wild. From soft pastels to bold colors, this venue will be enhanced with whatever is thrown at it.

Finally, the Colt Room which works perfectly year-round for a more intimate group. It is rich, romantic, warm, handsome – and has a gorgeous fireplace, you must check it out! It also makes for a lovely rehearsal dinner venue.

The grounds of Granite Bay have photo ops at every turn. The newlyweds can be driven via golf cart out to a lovely wooden bridge, or to giant granite boulders, or to locations with the view of the rolling hills or the beautiful country club as the backdrop. Since you’ll be enjoying the golf course setting, do know that Granite Bay Golf Club is a premier Northern California golf club described as “modern classic” designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The course has won numerous awards for design.

Let’s not forget to talk about the outstanding cuisine served at Granite Bay; truly unique, fresh, innovative, and delicious… and served by the nicest wait staff around. Our favorite taste treat is the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and chilled milk shots that can be served later into the party. Fun!

This venue is one that we feel exudes a comfortable, natural ambiance, but has an elegant vibe – all at the same time. It’s quite a gem.
