Lone Wulff Ranch, a Yolo County event venue, is in the farmlands just outside Davis, CA. Driving up to Lone Wulff Ranch takes one back to the good old days, passing the original home ~ a Greek Revival style farmhouse circa 1869, the organic vegetable garden, and through the various farming structures.
You can imagine what this farm was like in the late 1800’s. There is so much history behind the many and varied farm buildings and dairy barns. In fact, it’s fourth generation family owned and operated.
In addition to the rustic barns there is a gorgeous old Zelkova Tree perfectly shading the wedding ceremony location. The background views are of golden pastures and the rolling hills of the Vaca Mountains. If you love rustic barns Lone Wulff Ranch is the place for you with not one, but four(!) rustic structures. Photo ops abound. Northern California sunsets will delight the guests from just about any spot on the ranch.
Following the ceremony, make your way to the Milk Barn and perhaps have cocktails on the adjacent patio. The reception will be stunning in the original Hay Barn with slat wood siding. It lets just enough light through while adding protection and shade for the comfort of your guests. Just outside the Hay Barn is another patio with market lighting swags that makes for a perfect dance floor. Create a lounge, add a photo booth, have another bar, etc… there is plenty of room here. The Hay Barn also has a great exterior which is an alternative backdrop for a wedding ceremony.
This venue is perfect for a child’s birthday or family friendly celebration. Guests can enjoy the vegetable gardens, a game of hide-n-seek around the nearby barns and relish in the country life. And there is an option to bring in a petting zoo and other country themed activities. What fun for the kids… and adults, too!! There are additional options for gatherings including the front lawn and a large open area at the back of the historic home with lighting and shade. These are perfect for a wine tasting event, farm to fork dinner, or smaller family celebration.
Lone Wulff Ranch reflects the rural beauty of California history and natural landscaping, while the rustic characteristics are enhanced with contemporary market lighting for evening events. Wine barrels are available to use as cocktail tables or to set up florals to soften and “pretty up” the spaces. The old rustic barns and event spaces are lovely left as-is in their “natural” stage, or they can be completely transformed with furniture rentals and extra decor, making them uniquely yours.
There are many perks when hosting at Lone Wulff ~ they allow outside vendors and offer just one wedding per weekend. Also, be sure to take in the country charm while on property. Perhaps have your guests take a stroll through the organic gardens or meander out to the pasture to the corrals to visit with the friendly goats ~ talk about cool selfie opportunity!
