On the banks of the Sacramento River sits the beautiful Westin Hotel. The Westin is located just south of downtown and minutes from the Convention Center, the Capitol, and Historic Old Sacramento.  This venue is perfect for out of town guests with many amenities available – such as borrowing the hotel’s cute cruiser bicycles and explore the river’s sights and sounds, or stay around the hotel grounds and get pampered at the award winning Spa LaLe’, or soak in the Sacramento sunshine with outdoor time at the heated pool, or even just relaxing with a glass of wine or morning coffee in one of the sleeping rooms with the river facing balconies is a treat.

The possibilities are endless for weddings, receptions or corporate functions.  There is over 9,000 square feet of indoor space and unique open areas such as their poolside patio, intimate south patio, expansive south patio at Scott’s Seafood, a beautiful outdoor ceremony site on the river, riverside fire pits and bocce courts, and the Portofino tent overlooking the marina and riverfront (note the tent is available for use May through October.)  Whew… did I list enough to interest you?  The hotel has utilized their location on the river to the highest.  A bar can be set up on the lawn around the fire pits for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour before moving over to the ceremony site.  After the ceremony, wander over to the Portofino tent for a sit down dinner and dancing while watching the sun set…just beautiful.

The Grand Monaco Ballroom can accommodate smaller groups of 75 or larger parties up to 192 guests for those choosing an indoor reception or corporate event,  There is so much versatility with the space!  Outside the Grand Monaco is a large foyer with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows.  A temporary bar can be set up for guests to enjoy cocktails before moving into the Ballroom.  For much smaller parties such as meetings or rehearsal dinners, the Tower Room on the restaurant level can host up to 40 for a sit-down dinner and is set up with a large flat screen TV or projection screen for presentations.

Scott’s Seafood on the River is the fantastic on-site caterer and absolutely delectable!  From mouth-watering steak to fresh seafood, Scott’s Seafood is well known for being one of Sacramento’s Best Restaurants!

I love all that Westin has to offer – and wouldn’t mind a weekend stay (yes, I am a local) – but seriously, I would start off with time in the Westin Workout Fitness Center, followed by a river bicycle ride, then to the wonderful happy hour at Scott’s followed by watching the sun set over the river.  Ahhhh, bliss!
