What vision do the words Camelot, Juliette Balcony or Guinevere’s Cottage evoke?  If you can imagine lush gardens, landscaped topiaries, meandering pathways through blooming and very fragrant roses, ivy covered brick walls, and hanging wisteria vines, then you have just envisioned Wisteria Gardens.  This beautiful English country villa exists in the rural area of Sacramento County and near the hamlets of Sheldon and Elk Grove – approximately 20 minutes from downtown Sacramento.

We Vixens were awed as we walked through intricately made iron gates into this garden paradise (let’s just say our mouths were open and we were fairly speechless).  Wisteria Gardens is a multi-decade effort of the owners who have opened their country home for this private venue for any manner of social event.  A beautiful bridal shower, a special birthday, an elaborate tea and certainly a lovely wedding may be held here, and a great bonus is that there are three exquisitely decorated bedroom suites – one very special room is perfect for a wedding night arrangement.

A gleaming white 3 point pole tent is where large dinners may be held, or there is open lawn space for smaller outdoor dining gatherings.  Cocktails poolside is perfect with a sweet gazebo centrally located to display a wedding cake.  There is even a long lawn space that has a chapel concept structure with more intricate iron work acting as the stage or alter.  Stunning work surrounds you and the feel of romance is everywhere.

While wandering the grounds (there are 3 acres to the parcel) pay close attention to the outstanding custom made iron work (the owner of Wisteria Gardens is also owner of an ironworks company); he really put his talents to work here at this property.  Even in the bedroom suites – from bathroom vanities, to detailed appointments, to the beautiful head boards, and then the grounds have wonderful focal points of interest.

If you wish to be close to Sacramento, but as far away as merry old England, consider Wisteria Gardens!  Our photographer on this Vixen site inspection was Allison Stahl of Allison Stahl Photography.  Thanks for capturing so many beautiful details.
