A location hip enough for travelers from New York and San Francisco alike; enter Sixteen16 by Mama Kim. Just minutes from downtown Sacramento without being off the beaten path too much, Mama Kim Eats (a well connected Sacramento catering company) has taken over the Old Supper Club Space in Del Paso. Boasting a newly renovated and fresh restaurant, swanky hotel rooms next door, an airy patio, an adjacent art gallery, lounge bar, and catering that makes your mouth water. I am not quite sure where to start the detailed description on this location!
Let’s start with my personal favorite: the patio space. It takes me back to warm evening walks in France with criss-crossing lights overhead and colors abound. The patio is shaped in an extended ‘L’ and would make a great small ceremony option near one end. A beautiful wrought iron gate with climbing greenery would make a beautiful backdrop. A separate inside dining space would flow well into a cocktail hour while the patio is switched over to the reception space and dinner location. The patio area is flanked by the brick walls of each surrounding building. The patio is covered, but it all has a very outdoor industrial garden feel to it.
The inside dining space would be a great indoor reception and small gathering option for 120 guests or less. This space is bright, fresh and has a white washed rustic feel that pairs perfectly with Mama Kim’s resourceful and creative food and sourcing. Wood tables and chairs are included and a large curved bar with patio access is a bonus to this space.
If this patio and inside dining aren’t enough, you will find some secret patio spaces that are great for quiet areas guests may sneak off too or areas to create lounge or cigar bars. Artistically designed chairs and other seating areas continue the very urban, city central feel.
The primary art gallery has the expected white washed walls and would be perfect for the city couple who loves the gallery feel. This offers another great ceremony or cocktail hour area. If you love the idea of multiple spaces and want your guests to have an experience beyond a single ballroom, then this is the right spot for you.
Kim Scott (aka Mama Kim) is known for her creative cuisine and customized menu planning in offsite events, on the food truck, and now in this private space. I can think of too many ways to tie Mama Kim’s into on and offsite events. Move quick on this Sixteen16 space since they have amazing specials right now with no room fees when food and beverage minimums are met!
Last, but not least, accommodations through The Greens Hotel are on site for a quick night away or accommodations for your guests so they can simply walk next door and stay the night following your event. Each room is electrically charged by bright colors and very chic funky furniture pieces.
Give your guests an urban party without the hustle and bustle of downtown!
