Located in the historic Gold Country of California, in El Dorado County is Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast. We first became acquainted with this property via another nearby beautiful wedding winery venue that recommends Bella Vista for overnight/honeymoon accommodations. It is, in fact, a wonderful honeymoon location, but for the smaller, more intimate weddings, or other social events, with a headcount of about 100, Bella Vista is PERFECT!

This 5 acre property is located in the foothills between Placerville and Coloma, California.  As a matter of fact, it’s just up the hill from Coloma’s Gold Discovery Park – great for sightseeing. The B&B  is secluded, tucked away in nature, charming, and comfortable. The B&B is a luxurious hillside estate with countless amenities. It is truly a heavenly place to take your sweetie and have a great weekend experience. The estate inn is exquisitely appointed and the bedrooms (even the bath tubs! have wonderful views. There are a number of spots to sit and read, or spend time with your new husband over a glass of wine and while taking in the breathtaking countryside. The scenery surrounding Bella Vista is magnificent with several of their sleeping rooms overlooking the American River Canyon and the Coloma Valley and the American River (the town of Coloma is just down the hill nestled along the river.)

This beautiful estate has at least four or five ceremonial or reception sites to choose from to hold the wedding.  Some of the choices could be in front of the pillared pavillion with an elegant fountain on the upper lawn, or within the gazebo nestled on 20,000 square feet of manicured lawn with two lovely ponds in the background, or under a dramatic portico overlooking the laws and ponds.  Even the deck overlooks the beautiful view, and you’ll want to consider the sandy beach with a natural rock style lagoon including a waterfall, swim-up bar, waterslide and jetted jacuzzi tub overlook the  valley.

A professional wedding planner is required when booking this location of which Bella Vista has an on-site planner to assist, but if you come in with your own coordinator, the Inn will discount the package price by $500.00  (hey, a Venue Vixen would be a great resource!)  When booking Bella Vista, arrival is on Friday afternoon, with check-out being Sunday – two glorious days for relaxing, holding the rehearsal, and a catered dinner (if you wish), preparations for the wedding and reception, and also a delicious breakfast each morning created by the fantastic owner, Kathleen.  There are packages tailored to meet the specific needs, from the entire weekend to as little as a two hour ceremony only event.

The Vixens love Bella Vista.  And don’t forget that view!
