For those of you looking for a taste of Napa closer to Sacramento, then Lodi, California is a great possibility. For those of you looking for a Napa feel with a price point less than the famed region, then definitely consider the Lodi wine region and especially Berghold Estates.  As you make your way along the rose lined driveway with flowering shrubs and olive trees this will begin the journey at Berghold Estates.  Through majestic iron gates awaits an interior courtyard with stone walkways, towering Italian Cypress trees, and a perfectly manicured lawn.  Italian marble fountains grace the property grounds.  This front courtyard is one of Berghold’s two beautiful wedding sites.

The large stone building has the feel of being aged.  Grand cherry wood doors lead into a majestic tasting room and the first thing that will capture your eye is the 26-foot carved mahogany bar. The rich dark hard wood floors and the vaulted ceiling, makes this a luxurious interior space to host a special event. The tasting room showcases a collection of authentic Victorian antiques and art, from Currean Marble Statues, to a 1918 Charles Stieff concert grand piano.  Adjacent to the tasting room is the decorative “barrel room.”  Not a dark, dank room at all!  The exquisite fireplace anchors the room, and provides a feeling of warmth and intimacy and a unique stained glass Gothic window provides just the right amount of light filtering through.  Aside from the beauty of the room this is where guests kick off their shoes and boogie.  The dance floor and the secondary bar are great accents to the barrel room.  Both rooms to the interior of Berghold are very different but hold great interest and beauty..

A trip to Tuscany could only compare to the beauty of the ceremony site on the back side of the tasting room, which is surrounded by olive trees, lavender plants and more roses.  Berghold Estates sit in the middle of vineyards, so there is another layer of vegetation and the winery feel is all encompassing.  The perfect amount of lighting nestled in the tress and the fountain create an enchanting impression of Italy. The garden ceremony site offers an ideal place for any special couple to share their intimate values.
