Impressive! That is one word to describe The Crossing on Thomes Creek. There are many other adjectives for this Tehama County country venue. It’s located close to Corning, California, about a 2+ hour drive from downtown Sacramento, straight up I-5.
Read MoreUpon arrival to the ample parking lot, you’ll notice from the top of the knoll the expansive lawn area.
A ceremony spot under the native oak trees can be seen along with a gleaming white tent for the reception gathering and dinner. What’s more, the tent has cool decorator light fixtures and the whole tent glows at night! An awesome grain bin bar with adjacent dancefloor under the post and beam pavilion is ready for a dance party.
This ranch has been in the family since 1870 (!) and the owners have custom built and designed the structures. From the stand up bars with metal roof tops, to the grain bin bar, the historic post and beam ceremony arbor, and even the awesome restroom building, every thing fits in perfectly with the setting. The craftsmanship to the various structures is outstanding and the guests will appreciate the building workmanship and technique. And notice the outdoor lighting are Edison lights on posts that are reminiscent to telegraph poles. Every detail has been well-thought and purposeful.
With the open setting, expansive views, split rail fencing, and the country charm, you’ll love The Crossing on Thomes Creek. There is flexibility in exactly where to hold your wedding and festivities. The rental includes Friday for set up and rehearsal, Saturday for the event, and Sunday to remove your personal items. In addition, a corporate dinners or other celebrations have plenty of options and room to spread out and enjoy.
Be sure to check out the blog post on the construction of the grain bin dressing suite and another post on the completion ~ wow! We also appreciate the thoughtfulness in creating a decorative metal wall which vendors can park behind and hide vehicles. There are many electrical outlets around the property and up-light the oak trees too. And to make this a destination wedding, the nearby Rolling Hills Casino has sleeping rooms and restaurants for your guests’ weekend enjoyment.
