Duncan Farm Events is located on rolling farmland outside the little hamlet of Wheatland, CA. It’s a rustic, country setting where your guests are greeted by the sweetest farm animals and farm gate welcome sign. The farm covers many acres with a spacious feeling of peace and tranquility.
Read MoreThere are several options to hold an event. First and probably the most rustic space is the iconic barn which can be used as a backdrop to a wedding ceremony. The barn has a reclaimed wood entry and the interior is made up of corrugated metal walls, lined with wood farm fencing and hanging from the wood beamed ceiling is an elegant crystal chandelier. For a touch of humor, the inscription “Built with Blood, Sweat and Beers” is burned into an upper beam.
White draping can easily be added to the barn entry point to soften the space and add a formal elegant touch. Seating for the ceremony can be lined up hay bales covered in burlap, as well as chairs, or a combination. If your gathering is intimate, dinner may be held inside the barn; or a buffet could be set up, as well as the display of the wedding cake.
Next and just beyond the barn is The Bar Shed with repurposed wood toned plank walls and vintage license plates covering the ceiling. Old truck grills encircle the ceiling lighting ~ clever idea. Hard wood floors, an old school locker, and custom signs tie this space together. To the side of the bar shed, is a perfect patio space with fire pit and wood planked lounge seating creating a comfortable conversation area.
An additional area for larger events is to have dinner tables out on the open lawn with beautiful farmland views. Steps away is the custom-made wood planked dance floor with a cute white-washed wood slated wall with heart detail. Strands of market lights softly illuminate the dance floor. Near the dance floor is a second firepit and vintage wood spool tables and custom cocktail tables.
Another option to hold a wedding or dinner gathering is slightly up the hill on the backside of the home, facing out to the horse pasture. A sweet wrought iron, vine-covered gazebo with a stone pathway leads to a perfect wedding ceremony spot. After which, guest could move to the front of the home for a dinner reception on the lush grassy lawn. Cocktails may be enjoyed meandering the nearby plotted vegetable garden. Duncan Farms sunsets from this point are gorgeous!
Saving the best for last is The She Shed – an air-conditioned trailer that has been decked out to the max and is ideal for the bride and her ladies to use for preparations. Whitewashed walls, chandeliers and wood floors, along with many little touches make this space special. In addition they offer a secondary spot, shall we say Man Cave! It’s also got heating an air, so perfectly comfortable for more of the wedding party.
And, let’s not forget about the ONE windmill that started it all! Duncan Farms owner Neil loves windmills, and he got one even if its not as big as he’d hoped! Photo ops!!
Thank you, Beth of True Love Photo, for so many awesome photos!
