This El Dorado County, historic ranch property, is a secret treasure. Lotus View Ranch is tucked back into the rolling hills of Gold Country, past walnut orchards and cattle property. Thus, it is truly a quiet haven of Mother Nature. Generations of families and homesteaders have lived
on the 1,000 acres since the 1850’s and they all reveled in the natural serenity of the area. The present owner encourages peace and calm for events and gatherings, but not opposed to festive celebrations!
We see the Big Barn as the anchor for weddings, parties, and family gatherings. The former cow and horse barn was built in the 1930s. Now the Big Barn is a wonderful romantic space to host many functions. Old fashioned hanging metal domed lights and interior open sides to the old feeding bays are unique features. The open wood beams are perfect for hanging fabric or string lighting to glam up the interior.
Also, the Big Barn a wonderful place to dance, set up a buffet line, a coffee bar, or the dessert display. In drizzly weather, dining inside under the barn roof would be awesome (see indoor headcount.) Outside, in front of the barn, is a nice open lawn with space for tables and chairs for dining al fresco. Italian market lights are strung overhead for a romantic glow and twinkle lights can be added to the surrounding trees.
Once the wedding ceremony concludes the owner will take the newlyweds up to Sunrise Ridge for photos: The ride in the side-by-side is a blast! The ridge has outstanding sweeping views toward the Sierras. It’s majestic. Also, Sunrise Ridge is a favorite spot for a morning meditation session. Another option is to hold an intimate wedding ceremony on the ridge.
The Meadow is another great open air area at Lotus View Ranch. This is a wonderful option for an entire event in one space. A wedding can be held under the beautiful Wedding Tree. As daylight fades, the market lights strung overhead create ambiance above your tables, chairs, and dance floor.
Additionally, The Meadow can be utilized as a music venue with small bands and acoustic performances. Lay a blanket on the lawn and enjoy the music and nature under the MANY stars. An awesome stage-deck has been created over a 100 year old house foundation. OR, utilize the deck to hold your intimate rehearsal dinner celebration. The Meadow can also be an excellent spot for a yoga retreat; what a beautiful setting for meditation. The entire meadow is encircled by Douglas Fur trees and Ponderosa Pine creating plenty of shade and the smell of a forest.
Photos ops are everywhere. Barn wood, old foundations, ridge views, and also, in the spring months, walk the dock over the pond full of water with blooming lily pads plus water fowl. Fun Fact: Owner Rick conducts nature hikes and tours of the property!
