The Ranch at Stoney Creek sits within the rolling foothills of historic gold country of El Dorado County. The general area has many wineries and hillsides of vineyards. With 67 acres of nature including moss covered boulders, native grape vines hanging off the oak trees, stocked

ponds, and meandering pathways, you’ll be transported to another time. The history goes back to 1857 when a mining camp was active on this property. The two refurbished barns go back to the 1800’s ~ so much history! Our Vixen Visit was in the fall, so the autumnal colors were spectacular.

There is incredible beauty all around.. For a wedding ceremony there are a few locations to choose from all with nature as the focus. There is even a newly built white clapboard “church” if desiring to hold a ceremony on the church steps with vintage doors as your backdrop. Al fresco dining is held in “The Meadow, ” which is a large open lawn with strands of romantic market lights. Pine, Oak and Cedar trees encircle The Meadow.

Just off The Meadow is an open-air space for a cigar lounge, lawn games and an outdoor bar. Your guests can wander over to the Chicken Palace, or the goat pen and visit with the animals. The Big Red Barn is lovely with its rustic and beautiful décor and inside lounge seating. A handsome bar (permanent) is just inside the Red Barn, but service is convenient for the dance floor and party area immediately in front of the barn. An elevated rock wall and lawn seating makes for a casual and fun vibe.

The Ranch at Stoney Creek is a perfect Weekender Destination location. The rental time is from Friday afternoon to Sunday. And BONUS, there is a “no lights out time” for the entire weekend… that means no curfew so you can party and enjoy all night, if you wish! Rehearsal dinners can be set up next to the former stagecoach stop homestead, with bocce ball steps away. There are multiple cottages available to rent and for getting ready, and additionally there are area B&Bs for your guests to stay. For an adventure, the campground is nearby within the “woods” for tent camping with restroom and a shower within walking distance. Glamping Tents can be arranged here if desired.

Michelle, the owner, is extremely helpful and has tons of great ideas. She has storerooms of awesome decorator items and she will put together a package of lounge furniture and designer pieces to set the theme. You will love this venue! The venue grounds are large, but feel intimate and very private.
