Can you imagine your next party to be held in a space that used to be a chicken coup and farm house?! Now that’s different. You can’t help but be curious about this unique farm property conveniently located in the town of Sebastopol in beautiful Sonoma County. Sova Gardens, which means owl in Ukrainian [oh yes, the history runs deep here!], has the rural farm feel without feeling like you’re on the farm. By Sonoma County standards (which as we all know is not an inexpensive area of our region) Sova Gardens is an excellent value and a well-priced venue that’s convenient, can hold parties up to 250 guests comfortably, and has a variety of spaces to use however you choose. With ample parking, this venue sits on five acres of pasture, two of which are manicured and maintained to host a perfect party. The surrounding views are of grassy pastures, old redwoods, and blooming rosemary.
Sova Gardens offers choices with an outdoor event. Guests meander on a pathway past the old yellow water tower with the classic water wheel, sweet garden beds, and enter the many choices of spaces that start with drought resistant turfing. The tiered outdoor space allows for mid level ceremony area with the backdrop of four clustered oak trees. Each tier is level and with a touch of bistro lighting in place so that you have all that you need here. Guests can move to the tent [yes, it’s true, the owner will add fabric swagging to the tent for no charge!] on the first tier and enjoy cocktails and appetizers and then move to the large reception area close by that features a fountain and a backdrop of redwood trees. Moving up to the third tier deck with ambient lighting and a covered patio could be perfect for dancing and ending the evening. If you prefer to move the party indoors, the Tavern may be the perfect spot for you. This long, narrow remodeled chicken coup has low ceilings and two full bar spaces, one of which is an antique bar with unique details that put a fun touch to the end of a party. A simple and affordable rental package can be added to your venue rental to cover all of your table and chair needs for each space.
I can’t help but envision a corporate retreat, team building event or large family reunion on this property. A country inspired wedding would also be wonderful. Between the indoor and outdoor space, movement and transition of an event would be smooth and add so much variety.
The old farm house on the property can also be added to your rental for the weekend. Enjoy the full weekend to relax and enjoy this special time with your closest family and friends, or this would be the perfect on-site accommodations for the corporate meeting planner or CEO. A bridal bungalow, tucked behind rose bushes, can also be used for the day for the bridal party as they get ready.
For a farm property, you’ll be amazed at the commercial kitchen your caterer has access to plus many more perks this thoughtful owner has included to make your planning and process smooth so that you end up with an unforgettable event that will be talked about for years to come!
Thank you Rebecca of Ford Family Photography for joining us on this weekend getaway… great images!
