Vida Buena Farm is a lovely barn-country venue located in the foothills of California’s Gold Country, in Calaveras County. These 34 acres of rural paradise, about a 1 ½ hour drive from Sacramento, is conveniently located near Angels Camp and Murphys (great wine region).

Thus, we envision the opportunity to enjoy a great destination weekend for guests. Vida Buena has the perfect tag line of being in the “Mediterranean inspired California wine county.” In the spring everything is green and fresh and in the summer the hills are golden… otherwise known as “California’s Gold” and the evening brings cooling breezes.

There are very few restrictions at Vida Buena Farm; you may select your own caterer and bring in your own alcohol without corkage fees. The venue is versatile so create your own style, whether it’s upscale elegance or country casual. Also, there are several different ceremony and reception areas available for your unique wedding day flow.

Outdoor weddings are beautiful at Vida Buena. If you envision the ceremony taking place under a tree, consider the 100+ year old majestic oak. The property is surrounded by beautiful vistas, rolling hills, vineyards and distant pastures. Another option is to hold an intimate ceremony in the Oak Grove. A mini forest of oak trees will encircle and shade you and your guests. Steps away is a sweet little bridge and pathway leading to the Big Red Barn.

If looking for a barn party, this is the place. The Big Red Barn is newly constructed, so it’s not been used for animals in a previous life! Guests can gather for a pre-ceremony welcome on the patio overlooking the big oak tree, enjoy cocktails and appetizers on the deck behind the barn before enjoying dinner in the barn. After dinner, it’s back to the deck for a dance party under the perimeter of glowing Italian market lights.

In addition, an open lawn area is adjacent to the barn perfect for lawn games or for lounge seating and enjoying the sounds of frogs in the pond, the night air and stars! Bonus: The owner has made custom live-edge wood tables for dining, plus chairs, dishes, flatware and glassware are included in the rental.

Within the barn is a charming loft designed as a comfortable space for getting-ready. PLUS, the newlyweds can spend the night in this romantic space! It includes a cozy bed, sitting area, and an awesome bathroom with claw foot tub and copper sink. Just imagine sleeping in the loft of a barn to enjoy the true country experience!

Consider hosting a small welcome reception and/or cocktail hour on the Trellis Patio by the Estate house. The Trellis Patio overlooks the Wedding Tree and the farm property. The Patio is landscaped with raised planter boxes that include flowers, Mediterranean plants and fragrant herbs. In addition, pathways allow for wandering to check out the “garden art,” and a central fountain. A fun Bocce ball court is one of the amenities of the property and is positioned between the rows of trellised grapes. Dining al fresco under the stars within those grape vines and enjoying the cool evenings is pure bliss!

But wait, there is more… your guests can bring RV’s to stay overnight. The weekend rental rate includes a generous amount of time from Friday to Sunday. This gives plenty of time to create a unique event with custom rentals or time for DIY decor set up. The owners wish to share their amazing property with those that appreciate the beauty in what they have created. They are very dog friendly having a couple themselves and they will treat you like family – which might be the best part about Vida Buena Farm!
