What a paradise! Yocha Dehe Golf Club is a hidden treasure. Drive through the rolling hills of the Capay Valley in Yolo County to arrive at Cache Creek Casino Resort. After a quick peek at the bustling casino, spa and pool area , we drove just one mile to Yocha Dehe Golf Club. The clubhouse is designed to fit with nature; built of dark woods and lots of rock and stonework. The eating areas have leather couches and rich fabric accents and the Native American artwork is evident of the Wintun Indian Nation’s contribution and presence.

The interior spaces have unique etched glass walls depicting water. The magnificent sculptures on the property, created out of Indiana limestone by sculpture Doug Hyde, are beautifully displayed and inspiring.

A wedding ceremony can be held above the clubhouse on top of a hill, with breathtaking, panoramic views of the entire golf course, surrounding hillside and the private lake. Guests are shuttled via fun limo golf carts for convenience.  Or, the ceremony may take place on one of the golf greens closer to the clubhouse with the lake as a lovely backdrop. The multi-level rock and stone patios have giant firepits – perfect for the cool of the evening.

Additionally, large sliding doors open onto the patios, so guest dining can take place inside and outside.  Again, the views are awesome.  We reviewed the menus which are extensive and varied and positively yummy sounding…imagine Fresh King Salmon Filet or Free Ranch Breast of Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce. It’s obvious they take great pride in their menu selections.

Yocha Dehe is  upscale and elegant, romantic and lovely, natural and serene.  However, remember, just one mile “around the bend” is the action and nightlife of the Cache Creek Casino!  That’s one heck of an After Party.
