When picturing the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA, think winery meets downtown urban historic building. We adore brick and repurposed spaces feeling old and new ~ so refurbished old has to be the best. This venue has it all with old-world buildings and extensive grounds. They offer so
many options for weddings, private events and corporate functions, and each space has its own character and feel. There are many gorgeous photography backdrops, including grape vines within walking distance. Old Sugar Mill is located in Clarksburg, sitting along the Sacramento River Delta, and only 8 miles from downtown Sacramento.
Take a drive along the river for wine tasting. Currently, Old Sugar Mill houses 15 wineries during the day. The variety and SF Ferry Building feel of this spot during tasting hours is so much fun to experience. These buildings were part of an operational sugar mill until 1993 and it only took two years to renovate the space known as The Gallery to a wine tasting facility. They have continued to expand and renovate adding the other buildings and event spaces in the last few years.
Now, let’s talk about the individual spaces. When the winery doors close, The Gallery, a long corridor of the main building transforms with candle light, tables and chairs and your floral design! The space can comfortably seat 225 guests with a dance floor, separate bar in a tasting room, and outdoor cocktail area. The rectangular shape of this building and tall ceiling with sky lights is magnificent!
For a more intimate celebration there is the option of using the Barrel Room, which can accommodate 25-175 guests. The tall ceilings and barrel lined walls add to the ambiance of this fun room. This is a wonderful option for an indoor ceremony, a shower, private party, or perhaps your rehearsal dinner.
If you are searching for a larger outdoor ceremony or reception spot, the Old Sugar Mill offers that too. The Plaza is adjacent to the Gallery, directly behind the original brick building. It’s a large space with open lawn and it’s perfect for a larger wedding ceremony with the perfect brick backdrop). But actually, it can hold up to 1,000 guests for dining al fresco and an outdoor reception.
Inspired by New Orleans, the French Quarter is a great event space to hold a cocktail-style event for approximately 100 guests.
The Boiler Room has high ceilings, warm brick walls, and romantic bistro lights, making this extraordinary event space magical. The Boiler Room can accommodate up to 250 guests for an unforgettable wedding reception or gorgeous ceremony space.
The Old Sugar Mill also has an outdoor venue for more intimate events. The Grove offers a perfect ceremony and reception space for guest counts of 125 or fewer. Its intimate setting includes a large wrought iron arch surrounded by a beautiful lawn and gorgeous flowers and plants.
The Boiler Room and The Grove are open for daytime or evening events, while the other spaces are not available until 6pm, after the wine tasting room closes. All of the event spaces are offered in the all-inclusive packages.
