UC Davis is such a wonderful location for a wedding or celebration because it has so many different venues to offer.  One of my favorite venues on campus is the Alumni & Visitors Center.  It a great reception venue, coming from a church or outdoor campus ceremony, but it’s also perfect to have everything right there.  Being walking distance from the Hyatt Place doesn’t hurt either.  The bride, groom and wedding party can get ready at Hyatt Place and just walk on over for the celebration…then walk back after for overnight accommodations, not having to worry about driving after all of the festivities!

The Alumni Center offers 3 areas of use: the grass area, perfect for the outdoor ceremony with several trees outlining the area and a backdrop of natural foliage; the courtyard, which makes for an awesome cocktailing space…and no need to rent a dance floor when you can dance on the patio under the stars or hang market lights with ease; and the Alpha Gamma Rho Room makes a lovely and convenient dining area with tall ceilings and the adjacent rooms for catering~and wonderful if you want to enjoy some indoor time during the heat of the summer.   You might also elect to just use the outdoor space and have dining outside, either in the courtyard or on the grass…both work great!

The Alumni Center is located in the center of the University Gateway District, anchored by the beautiful Mondavi Center. In the center of the beautiful architecture is Vanderhoef Quad which offer another pretty ceremony option only yards away from the Alumni Center doors.  The grass area with the unique, contemporary water fountain has a completely different look than the Courtyard, which makes it perfect for photos taken beforehand…and after dark ~ wow!

The options at UC Davis are endless and the event staff is so accommodating and will help with rentals, logistics and permitting.  The campus is beautiful and your guests will truly love Davis and the small, college town atmosphere!
