Incorporating a Tree Planting Ceremony in your wedding {Last post of the tree series}
Number 5 in a series of 5
The previous blog posts offered the symbolism of marrying underneath a beautiful tree. Many of our Vixen Venues have heritage oak trees, majestic walnut trees, or whimsical willow trees and all make for stunning wedding ceremonies. This post is is regarding the planting of a tree on your wedding day.
Vixen Vendor, Meg Gurley, a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant (www.megsceremonies.com) prepared a nice, informative blog post – click here to read her post. Meg asks you to go back to your memories, or think of your present life together as a couple. Do you have fond memories of camping as a youngster, perhaps a parent hung a rope or swing from a backyard tree for you to play on, do you and your partner enjoy nature and hiking in the woods? A wonderful step to incorporate within your ceremony is to plant a tree. This act will help you to remember the beginning of your married live together as you watch it grow each year. It is a beautiful remembrance and could be an amazing tradition to continue with the birth of future children, as well.
Meg performed a wedding in a redwood grove, and the couple planted their very own special redwood tree. Meg informed that a tree’s grown is similar to love. The redwoods do not have deep roots but rather roots that can extend up to 50 feet in all directions and intertwine with each other for strength – how cool is that?!
Here are photos of other couples who have planted a bush, or lemon tree… whatever makes your heart sing!
