To Marry Underneath a Tree… a Series {3 of 5}
Number 3 in a series of 5
We are obsessed with the many beautiful “wedding trees” on the property of our Vixen Venues. An ancient, lone tree, is majestic and grand by itself, but adding simple touches to that tree such as lanterns, or swaths of fabric, or stunning floral accents, is another way to make it clear and differentiated as the ceremony backdrop.
In the first two blog posts, we concentrated on heritage oak trees. This post will showcase, a Chinese Pistache, a Black Walnut and a Zelkova.
The large, spreading branches of a Chinese Pistache is prominently featured on the grounds of The Maples Wedding & Event Center. The venue is in Woodland, CA and has 55 acres of beautiful lawns, gardens and historic architectural design elements. Receptions are held on the expansive open lawn adjacent to the tree.
This stunning tree is on the luxurious grounds of Triple S Ranch, in Calistoga (Napa County wine country). It is estimated that this “Grandpa Walnut” is over 200 years old. Now there is a symbol of marriage longevity! Following a beautiful wedding, guests may walk the path to the reception that can be held alfresco on the patio of the Vintner’s Barn, or inside the interesting room.
This farm/country venue is located in Yolo County, just outside Davis, CA. Lone Wulff Ranch has great views West toward the Coast Range, with stunning sunsets. The very old Zelkova tree is the perfect backdrop, and its a bonus if the resident goats are watching the nuptials! Before walking over to the vintage wood barn for the reception, guests can have a goat convo!
