Venue Vixens in-house coordination {Part 1}
In the spring of 2017, we were asked to take on the remaining weddings that were booked at the Julia Morgan House in the Elmhurst District of Sacramento. They had lost their in-house manager/coordinator and so turned to the Venue Vixens for some assistance. What an honor and what a full and exciting spring/summer! This historic mansion designed by famed architect, Julia Morgan (who also designed Hearst Castle in San Simeon) is on the Historic Register – it has beautiful interior rooms, a large courtyard and lovely gardens. But, unfortunately, the ownership of the estate is no longer booking weddings, so we were lucky enough to wrap up their wedding season and made many couples very happy.
Thought we would share some photos of the estate, and the weddings held there, showcasing each couple’s individual style.
In the library of the Julia Morgan House, we found this book – “The Vixens” – apparently “it was meant” to be!
This couple married in front of the Garden Pergola and chose the subtle colors of ivory, champagne and gold. They set up white vintage doors and draped with organza for a soft alter effect. The overheat market lights (installed at the Estate by Vixen Vendor, Mike Regan of Mr. DJ Event Services) are very romantic for dining on the courtyard. For fun, and because it’s their favorite taste treat, guests enjoyed chips, salsa and taquitos at an appetizer table.
A perfect color palette of lavender, purples and ivory was the theme for this couple. They created a beautiful elaborate wrought-iron alter backdrop, dripping in color and vines. The bannister railing calls for floral work, too! The buffet was stationed in the lovely dining room of the estate.
We love the ideas each of these couples brought to the Julia Morgan House… being Star Wars fanatics, naturally, this bride and groom had to incorporate the theme into their wedding day. The head table set up on the Library Portico was a statement maker and their clever desert inspired centerpieces were really cute. As was the cake topper (yes, Luke has a blaster pointing at Princess Leia)!!
Be sure to check out a few more weddings held at this estate – wait for Part 2 to be posted! Thank you!!
