Venue Vixens In-House Coordination {Part 2}
This is a continuation of the previous {Part 1} post… enjoy!
In the spring of 2017, we were asked to take on the remaining weddings that were booked at the Julia Morgan House in the Elmhurst District of Sacramento. They had lost their in-house manager/coordinator and so turned to the Venue Vixens for some assistance. What an honor and what a full and exciting spring/summer! This historic mansion designed by famed architect, Julia Morgan (who also designed Hearst Castle in San Simeon) is on the Historic Register – it has beautiful interior rooms, a large courtyard and lovely gardens. But, unfortunately, the ownership of the estate is no longer booking weddings, so we were lucky enough to wrap up their wedding season and made many couples very happy. Thought we would share some photos of the estate, and the weddings held there, showcasing each couple’s individual style.
The majority of couples choose the Garden Pergola as the location to hold the ceremony and due to the groom’s Japanese ancestry, the Pergola was the perfect structure to hang the traditional origami folded cranes. They also wanted freshly made pizza to feed their guests, so the portable pizza oven was ordered! Fun. Dancing was held inside the mansion in the main foyer.
This couple held their reception only at Julia Morgan House after having a Temple LDS wedding earlier in the afternoon. A lovely gathering where family and friends joined the couple for evening refreshment and desserts and to encircle them as they had their First Dance on the courtyard patio under the market lights. Sweet.
Specialty chairs, glass beaded chargers and the color of purple was on tap for this couple’s summer wedding day.
Gold, black and pops of red was the theme for this wedding, with gold chivari chairs being used for the ceremony chairs (which were then moved over to the reception tables on the courtyard patio). Again, this couple married in front of the Garden Pergola with graceful fabric swaging hanging from the structure. Check out the glitzy sweetheart table position on the Library Portico.
And we’ll end with this lovely wedding which set up much differently from the majority of other weddings. The decided to marry on the Library Portico, having the guests sit on the courtyard patio to watch the ceremony. Then beautiful long farm tables were placed on the open lawn. This event was very elegant and all about the gathering, conversation, the food and bar. Dancing was not of importance, except for the First Dance. It was a sophisticated dinner party. Lovely!
Thanks for following “what the Vixens did spring/summer 2017” – it was a wonderful opportunity to be house coordinators and help many couples with their wedding day!
