Vixen Vittles at Amador Vintage Market
The Vixens had the most relaxing and enjoyable time while visiting with Beth Sogaard… caterer extraordinaire, at her fantastic venue… Amador Vintage Market. Tucked away on Main Street in the tiny hamlet of Plymouth, Amador County, is thee best place to stop – which we did on our way to Helwig Winery. Beth and staff prepared just the perfect afternoon luncheon.
We settled down at our comfortable table and allowed our wonderful friend and fabulous photographer, Beth Baugher of True Love Photo to take photos of all the beautifully created dishes. Great shots! We were served a hot, very delicious Thai Coconut & Curry Shrimp Soup – garnished with mico greens and wonton crisp. It was so pretty.
Beth had a trio of salads made, served in large woven baskets. We, naturally had to try some of each one!
Curried Chicken Salad – their “signature salad,” made up of grilled chicken breast, grapes, celery, almonds and zesty curried mayonnaise on mixed greens with pickled onions, marinated tomatoes and drizzled with house vinaigrette
Vintner’s Garden Salad – Organic baby greens, crumbled gorgonzola, glazed walnuts, fresh berries and grapes with blackberry-zinfandel vinaigrette
Garden Salad – Crisp romaine, tomatoes, onions and blue cheese dressing
The salads were accompanied with rustic hearth breads from Andrae’s bakery (just up the road in Amador City) served with European butter.
And the one photo not captured, were the house-made potato chips served with the “famous” freshly made hummas. No photos, because we couldn’t stop long enough for Beth to take a picture!
Thank you Beth Sogaard and Beth Baugher (two terrific Beths) for a great lunch and for fabulous photos!
