Vixen Vittles @ RailBridge Cellars & Company
Prior to the recent official Grand Opening, owner Michael Gelber invited the Vixens to enjoy a preview of the fare, wine (lots of it!) and the space at the new RailBridge Cellars & Company. Check out our previous post to see all the pretties inside this cool restaurant venue which is on the ground floor of the historic
in downtown Sacramento. This post is about the delicious, artful, fun and non-pretentious food we enjoyed.
We started off with a Fire Roasted Tomato soup, then the combination of Brussels spouts, bacon and marble potatoes (we always try Brussels sprouts when we’re out together!) and we thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie platter (the cheeses spread beautifully over soft bread points).
More courses followed… the delicious Sauteed Wild Mushrooms on grilled ciabatta, the wonderful Rock Shrimp Street Tacos and we loved one of their house specialties which was The Levine – (brined and smoked) Pastrami on double baked Rye served with their house made cole slaw and pickle (yummmm)
Of course we were stuffed, but coffee and dessert was calling us. We enjoyed the delicate Petite Cheesecake with Gran Mariner and berry reduction topped with vanilla bean cream and graham cracker dust crust and served with artistically presented Cappuccino.
Thank you Michael and staff (attentive service BTW, Chef Shane is a sweetie!) for a lovely evening. Big thank you to our pal, Allison Stahl for being our food porn photographer (hope you got to taste between clicks!).
Consider this beautiful venue for your private parties – wedding rehearsal, corporate event or other socials. You won’t be disappointed! Call (916) 476-5224 to make arrangements.
