Vixen Vittles & Shopping ~ Seka Hills
How can a spring afternoon get any better then a drive through beautiful Capay Valley in Yolo County, to visit a cool new venue, drink wine, eat fantastic artisan food, and SHOP! Yes, Seka Hills Olive Mill and Tasting Room offers all this. Vixen photographer, Allison Stahl, joined Kendra, Laurie and Lora where we received the royal treatment when we met with Alison, the event coordinator and tasting room supervisor and heard and saw all that Seka Hills has to offer. The tasting room is a delight where one can sample the various flavors of olive oils made on site(!) , try wine samplings, and order some great fancy-dancy deli foods to enjoy on their shaded patio (olive trees provide that shade). Seka Hills is located within the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and they sure do have a great operation going on there. Alison set us up with their signature charcuterie board and fruit platter, we ordered their organic green salad and signature pasta salad and a couple of their artisan sandwiches…the Italian Bird and the Italiano. The Nisqually Salmon Sandwich was a big contender but sharing these two good size sandwiches took care of our needs just fine!
The views are gorgeous, the setting relaxing and we highly recommend a Capay Valley drive just to shop (pick up a jar of Seka Hills honey or the Fat Toad Farm caramel sauce)… and naturally, if you’re considering a country setting for your wedding or any social you have planned, you will not be disappointed with this property!
