Vixen Vittles ~ The Gate @ Murieta Inn and Spa
One of the great perks of venue research is having the opportunity to taste and enjoy the fare offered at that particular property. On our recent visit to Murieta Inn and Spa, located in eastern Sacramento County, in the rolling foothills of the historic Gold Country, we timed it just right to catch their happy hour and enjoy some “Vixen Vittles” at The Gate, the hotel’s on-site restaurant. We sampled a variety of “Rancher’s Bites” (aka appetizers) and an adult beverage from their well-stocked bar. Murieta Inn resources many of their ingredients from their own state-of-the-art greenhouse and five-acre farm (Angel Wing Farm).
This delightful cocktail is called the Gold Rush and is a perfect signature beverage for a wedding or corporate event. Why not start off with something delicious and very pretty!?
Macadamia Nut Ahi Poke with seasoned wonton crisps.
Pan roasted Shishito Peppers (not too hot at all… very yummy)
House Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork on avocado corn cake (to die for!)
Roasted Crimini Mushroom and Goat Cheese Flatbread. Light and tasty, and we were torn as to choosing the Smoked Brisket Flatbread (next time perhaps!)
The Angel House (greenhouse) at the 5 acre Angel Wing Farm. Very cool.
We appreciated that our Vixen Photographer, Mischa Purcell, was able to grab these photos before we consumed everything and licked the plate!!
