Finding a venue that has “roof top” access with fantastic views is sometimes difficult, but Sacramento’s very own Hyatt Regency has TWO!  The Venue Vixens enjoyed a site inspection of the wonderful Capitol View Room (see the Featured Review we posted recently), but we were head-over-heels for their newly open 12th floor space called Grand Terrace Suite – and it is grand! This is a unique space with an open roof top terrace that can handle 100 guests for a wedding ceremony or a lovely alfresco dining experience.  Naturally, Hyatt would take care of the bar arrangements and catering, which is so convenient, and so-so delicious.  The view from the Grand Terrace overlooks beautiful Capitol Park and the magnificent gleaming white dome of the State Capitol.  One can even tilt their head back and look up the modern edifice to the very top of the Hyatt… it feels a bit “New York City ~ Central Park.”

The interior space with full length windows, is a large one bedroom suite, complete with a baby grand piano centrally positioned for gathering around and sharing music and perhaps breaking in to song!  The leather couches and side chairs plus sexy chaise offers very comfortable seating – as if entertaining in your own luxurious living room, plus the glass top dining room table is perfect to set up a small buffet and the wet bar is another nice added feature.

The Grand Terrace Suite has multiple uses: corporate business meeting, a private intimate dinner gathering, a larger wedding and reception, or rent the suite for your own quiet enjoyment and sleeping and perhaps then invite some guests up for a luxurious small alter-party location with Hyatt providing fantastic late night fare.  The only problem with this last scenario will be asking your guests to leave this stunning space so you can enjoy the comfortable bed!  And one little side note… “rumor has it” that a certain political dignitary used to reside in this fantastic suite while in office.  Shhhh…

The Hyatt Regency Sacramento hotel property is perfectly situated for those out of town guests.  Within the hotel is a lovely pool space, two great restaurants and very cool bars, and then just steps away is Capitol Park and the State Capitol building.  With the other tourist attractions nearby such as Old Sacramento, the State Railroad Museum and the Crocker Art Museum, your guests will be entertained and amused for days!
