The Maples is a lovely country estate on 55 acres in Yolo county that offers many options for event spaces. Also, it’s centrally located in California, which makes it a great destination wedding venue. It’s just 15 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the bustling capitol, and only 1 ½ hours from San Francisco.
The driveway to this historic venue is magnificence with its canopy of some of the oldest olive trees in California (circa 1870). Valet attendants are in position at the main entrance gate and guests can peek over the low retaining wall to soak in the landscaping and see hints of early California Spanish architecture incorporated throughout.
The classic Ranch House was built in the 1930’s. It has had a full remodel so it’s perfect for indoor intimate weddings, corporate meetings or any small party. A full catering kitchen and vendor prep area is a bonus for your caterer: The Maples has a wonderful list of professional caterers for you to choose from. There’s a lovely bridal suite, with luxurious couches and built-in hair and makeup stations for up to 4. The Groom Cave is an awesome handsome area downstairs with pool table and bar…there’s a place for everyone!
For smaller events consider the back courtyard with the focal 85-year-old Ginkgo tree. This makes a wonderful backdrop for a ceremony. The lawn is shady in the evenings, with space for ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing all in the same area.
The front Homestead Lawn will be an obvious choice for many celebrations. It’s large with meandering flowerbeds full of colorful blooms. The lawn is flanked by the Manor Pool and Patio, which will also work well for poolside cocktails; this leads into the games area with bocce ball and horseshoes. Also, adjacent to the Homestead Lawn is the original potting shed which has been made in to a fun bar. It has a rustic feel, perfect with the beautifully manicured lawn area.
Additionally, peak behind the Pool House to find an unexpected treat to share with your guests – the original outdoor patio with the cool original fireplace that is a great spot for candles and decor! Consider adding some lounge furniture or using the area for a late night dancing spot ~ fabulous.!
Another area of The Maples is the rustic, historic Maple Stable (circa 1930’s). Marry in front of this barn or simply use the cool doors and stable as a photo backdrop. The farm land surrounding the area is of fruit trees and fields.
Fun fact: There is great history to this property; it was the original venue for the Yolo County Fair! With so much to offer, you really need to head on out to truly appreciate The Maples.
